About batik Butterfly Sido Mukti (Sido Mukti Kupu-Kupu)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This batik pattern is originated in Surakarta (Solo), Central Java. This design is one of the ancient batik design originally used during the royal wedding of the Sunan's family (King's family). The butterfly variant symbolises freedom and perfection. It reminds us that to achieve happiness one must go through different stages which may be full off suffering which we need to endure and persevere. This is pictured by the life cycle of butterflies (metamorphosis).
About batik tulis
-----------------------
The design was hand drawn onto the fabric by using the traditional method of wax resist dyeing. The fabric is immersed in the dye after the wax is applied. The process is repeated depending on the number of colors used in the design.
This method of batik creation is called batik tulis.
It's method of creation makes this batik unique, one of a kind. It's imperfect lines add to the rustic and organic feel of the design.
