Byron Rimm

Byron Rimm enters his second season as an assistant coach at HCU, bringing a wealth of coaching experience to the Huskies’ staff.
 
Rimm joined the HCU staff with 16 years of collegiate head coaching experience with 12 of those seasons at the NCAA Division I level. Most recently, he was the head coach at IUPUI for two seasons, initially taking over in an interim role and then during last year’s Covid-19 shortened season as head coach. Prior to his position as head coach, he served one year as associate head coach at IUPUI after spending one year as an assistant at UC Riverside.
 
From 2006 through 2016, Rimm served as the head coach Prairie View A&M and remains the program’s all-time winningest coach, amassing 115 victories across 10 seasons with the Panthers. Overall, as a head coach, he owns 197 career wins. He also spent three years as head coach at Jarvis Christian from 2002 through 2005 and coached the Texas College women’s basketball team during the 2001-02 season. In addition to his head coaching positions, he has been on coaching staffs at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Pasadena City College and Chaffey Community College.
 
A Florida native, Rimm played collegiately at Ventura College and Cal State Los Angeles, earning a degree from CSLA and then earning a master’s degree in education from American InterContinental University.
