​Betawi comedian Mpok Nori passes away at 84

Mpok Nori, a comedian most famous for her thick Betawi accent, passed away at Pasar Rebo Hospital in East Jakarta. She was 85.

“Mak Nori passed away this morning at 7:40. She breathed her last breath at Pasar Rebo Hospital, East Jakarta. Please forgive her if she ever wronged anyone in her life,” a statement read, as quoted by Detik today.

Mpok Nori was active in her acting career, even in her old age. She frequently appeared in comedic sketches on TV, as well as appearing in recent movies like Get Married and Sule Detektif Tokek.
