Adapted from a series of talks given on Jean de la Fontaine on Radio Canada with an analysis of 18 fables.

Robert E. Llewellyn served as a military chaplain in France during the Second World War. Taken prisoner by the Germans, he escapes and flees to America. In 1945 he made his pedagogical accounts of the fables of the fountain.

Jean Simard (1916-2005) author of novels and essays, translator and illustrator, was a professor of drawing at the Fine Arts of Montreal.

Good vintage condition except: -Slices and rubbed corners (see photos)
-Junction of the first dish and the back slightly split up and down on 7mm (see photos)
-Yellowish stain on the 1st plate (see photos)
-Label mark removed from 4th plate (see photos)
-Yellowish stains out of frame at bottom right until p. 31
-Vertical punch out of frame with lack (4mm) in the middle of the pages of p. 129 to 169 (see photos)
