Makna Konotasi Penutur Terhadap Buku Membongkar Gurita Cikeas : Di Balik Skandal Century

Abstract

Membongkar Gurita Cikeas : Di Balik Skandal Century written by George Junus Aditjondro tells the involving of SBY’s foundations to support him winning the presidential election in 2009. Many people responded by giving positive or negative   comment in almost all newspapers. That is the reason why the writer took the speaker’s comment in newspaper to know the positive or negative value of his emotional side. The meaning of the comment  h aving additional value, which is called connotation, was influenced by the background whether the speaker supported or opposed SBY. The writer got the data from Kompas, Jawa Pos and Suara Merdeka published on December, 29th 2009. Those data show that  we had to explore the background of the speaker to know the connotation meaning, namely positive or negative one  showing his emotional side. The speaker’s word  stimulated the sense to give positive or negative reaction, stimulated the stereotype, and stimulated the behaviour and belief of the listeners ( readers ) gained from the experience, so we would know what emotional side he had.  Key words: emotional side, negative connotation, positive connotation.
