The Teletubbies are freakishly tall in real life… and people can’t handle it

IF you were a child of the 90s, the Teletubbies probably hold a special place in your heart.
But, prepare yourselves - because if you imagined them as pint-sized little creatures, the illusion is about to be smashed.
It turns out the Teletubbies, who first hit our screens 20 years ago, are actually enormous monsters who would tower over Barney.
They are somewhere between 6ft 7in and 7ft 11in tall in 'real life'.
That's right, Po isn't so sweet and little after all. He, Tinky Winky, Dipsy and Laa-Laa are actually giant aliens living in a converted bunker.

The internet went into meltdown after a 2001 Time magazine article resurfaced, claiming Tinky Winky was 10ft tall.
The story reads: “Though onscreen the Fab Four appear to be a baby-friendly size, in ‘person’ they are gargantuan, bigger than Barney, bigger even than Big Bird.
“Po, the smallest, is 6 ft. 6 in., while Tinky Winky looms around 10 ft. tall. This makes for a costume that weighs more than 30 lbs.
“And if the performers, who see and breathe through the mouth holes, keep their heads on too long, there is a danger of carbon-dioxide buildup.”
However, after contacting the production company for comment - we discovered that Tinky Winky is not quite as big as originally suspected, measuring up at 7ft 11in tall.
While sweet little Po is the SAME height as Stoke City footballer Peter Crouch.

A Tumblr thread discussing the revelation that the Teletubbies are giant has been re-blogged more than 70,000 times. It was only posted yesterday.
The thread even features a pic of Tinky Winky towering over a person.
In response, London Mollari wrote: "It’s 1 am and I have a cold and I just found out that Tinky Winky is 10 feet tall and I don’t know what to do".
And he's far from the only one who's shocked - with dozens of people taking to Twitter to express their views.
Among them was Robin Hall, who wrote: "I just found out the #teletubbies are 10ft tall and I'm paralysed with fear".
While Brett S Vergara called it as "real perspective-shaker" and Racnel Willia said: "Everything is so much more sinister now".
