Marsha Timothy has proved herself as an actor of substance across theatre and film. The stylish actress became known to the public in 2006 through her debut in the film Ekspedisi Madewa (Madewa Expeditions). But it was her role in the thriller Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts (2017) that earned her acclaim from critics both locally and internationally.

Timothy won the Best Actress Award from the Indonesian Film Festival and the Best Actress Award at the Sitgès International Fantastic Film Festival in Spain, beating fellow nominee Nicole Kidman. She was also offered the chance to play the role of Nyai Ontosoroh in Pramoedya Ananta Toer's Buru Island Tetralogy, performing in theatre for the second time.

Timothy is the wife of actor Vino G Bastian and the daughter-in-law of Indonesian novelist Bastian Tito.
