This fundamental teaching of Sikhism is that there is only "one Essence" or "one reality" that sustains all; this is paramount to the understanding of Sikh beliefs.
How this Sculpture… is Made:
A hand drawing of the design is digitized and then laser cut from a metal plate. The laser cut parts are then assembled and welded together.
A first powder painted color is applied and baked on to the sculpture. Then each additional color has a masks cut and then the powder paint is individually baked in an oven for each color. This sculpture is a 3 color powder painted sculpture.
The unique name plate on the bottom of the sculpture is laser engraved on the nameplate and assembled in a base frame.

« My life and art is a continual journey of exploration and when I think I have arrived, I become aware that it is just the beginning of something new to learn. »
Joyce Steinfeld is an experienced printmaker and sculptor based in the United States whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Israel. Creating intuitively, she describes her shapes as being a language in their own right, as they communicate feelings, ideas, and sensations that are beyond words. Steinfeld's distinctive pieces are translated through fabricated steel, aluminum, bronze, and resin.
