One of my favorite #sustainability case studies from the leader of lower carbon steel, Outokumpu ! The key to unlocking value from #ESG investments is clear and trustworthy ESG data to empower #greenprocurement decisions and justify a green premium for a better product. This puts innovation, and not regulation, at the center of the transformation. Fantastic work by the Outokumpu team and a great example of the #MIMA - Microsoft Intelligent Manufacturing Awards. Was really delighted to contribute to this important event exploring ways for #MSMEs to adopt #circulareconomy and present the initial results of a policy brief on Enhancing #Green Practices for MSMEs in #ASEAN. Policy makers can support circularity through a number of relevant measures around 1) creating awareness, 2) promoting innovating and building on the benefits digitalisation and AI can bring, as well as 3) developing standards, labels and regulations, and 4) bringing much needed recourses, especially finance to MSMEs to adopt CE practices and adjust their operational models. We discussed relevant examples around #cradletocradle approaches, roles of industrial networks, examples of #industrialsymbiosis programmes, clusters and industry-academia partnerships. Thanks a lot to the Indonesia Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, The ASEAN Secretariat, and various stakeholders participating in this meeting.

A decade ago, most IPAs were driven by big-ticket projects promising large capex and job creation. Today, many of them in the developed world are more focused on high-quality projects. An investment’s value is now in the eye of the beholder. In our latest IPA Roundtable, four European IPAs debate when an investment's size is not its most important feature, and how they must adjust to identify and attract the best projects for their markets. With thanks to Vanessa Vega Saenz of Invest in Denmark, Patrik Wermelinger of Switzerland Global Enterprise, Lars Hagebris of Invest in Finland and Anne-Wil Lucas at NV NOM. #FDI #foreigndirectinvestment #investmentattraction #Roundtable #roundtablediscussion #innovation #businessecosystem #knowledgetransfer https://lnkd.in/gbbVzZM9
