Don't talk to me—I'm thinking about Zoë Kravitz's latest red-carpet look. On March 8, at the Saint Laurent x Vanity Fair x NBCUniversal dinner party celebrating Oppenheimer ahead of the Oscars, Kravitz wore a complicated mesh gown that only she could pull off so effortlessly.
With her hair slicked back into a bun, Kravitz walked the event's black carpet in a see-through black gown with a high neckline balanced out by an open back. The layered gown also featured a wrap skirt tied at the waist over a what appears to be another sheer panel of fabric and built in bodysuit, thus creating the illusion of a leg slit that made the 35-year-old actor appear much taller than her alleged 5'2" frame.
She finished off the look with just her engagement ring, a pair of diamond earrings, and a subtle winged eyeliner, keeping the rest of her makeup minimal. Inside the event, Kravitz was photographed with fiancé Channing Tatum, who was dressed in an all-black look of his own. You can see that photo here.
Unsurprisingly, Zoë Kravitz wasn't the only attendee to lean into the popular sheer trend. Gwyneth Paltrow also went for an all-black version of the look, though her look was styled in a completely different way.
Instead of going braless in a mesh gown, Paltrow wore a sheer turtleneck over a tiny black bra, all layered underneath a smart black blazer with satin lapels. Continuing to play with contrasting textures, Paltrow opted for a double-pants look, wearing a pair of tiny leather shorts over opaque black tights. She topped things off with a pair of statement silver earrings and a smoky eye look, leaving her blond hair down.
Frankly, they both nailed it.
