Find a penny pick it up ... and bring it straight to Burger King.

According to the National Days calendar, Tuesday, January 30, is National Escape Day, National Draw a Dinosaur Day, National Yodel for Your Neighbors Day, and National Croissant Day. We don’t have anything against hand-drawn dinos or singing toward the apartment next door, but they’re not the reason we can all score a $0.01 breakfast sandwich at the end of the month.

To celebrate National Croissant Day, Burger King will be offering its Croissan’wich for just one penny. BK has five versions of its longtime breakfast staple, whether you’re into Ham, Egg and Cheese; Sausage, Egg, and Cheese; Bacon, Egg & Cheese; just Egg & Cheese; or the Fully Loaded Croissan’wich, which is stacked with ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, and cheese.

Of course, there is a minor catch to getting a 1 cent Croissan’wich. You will have to be a member of Royal Perks, Burger King’s customer loyalty program, and you’ll need to place an order of at least $1 or more through the Burger King app or through the Burger King website during regular breakfast hours on January 30. The penny-for-a-Croissan’wich deal is not valid on third-party delivery orders.

Burger King is also giving its Royal Perks Members the ability to buy its Hershey Pie for just one cent on Tuesday, January 23, which is National Pie Day. (It’s also National Handwriting Day and National Measure Your Feet Day, just in case you want to make it a triple celebration.) The same conditions apply for that deal as well: Royal Perks members will have to spend at least $1 to redeem the pie offer through the app or website.

Burger King’s Croissan’wich deal aside, some analysts think that breakfast could be a big meal this year. The food service experts at consulting firm Technomics have predicted that there will be a “breakfast boom during the work week,” as consumers shift toward more affordable meals out in the morning, compared to lunch and dinner. “On the weekends, brunch will become the new dinner thanks to its equally appealing social aspects, large adult beverage selections, and lower average check,” the company added in its list of “What’s in Store for 2024.”

Meanwhile, Axios cites a couple of surveys about the popularity of breakfast out: one says that 77% of adults between the ages of 18 and 24 (Gen Z) and 66% of those between 25-34 (millennials) get breakfast from a fast-food restaurant between one and three times per month. A second survey conducted by J.M.Smucker said that 67% of Gen Z-ers and 76% of millennials bought breakfast foods or drinks “at a food service location” at least once every week.

Either way, Burger King could be handing over a lot of 1-cent Croissan'wiches later this month. And don’t worry: you can still draw your dinosaur on the wrapper.
