The band members appear to be taking a much-needed break from touring. Their next show is slated for Saturday, September 24 at Firefly music festival in Dover, Delaware.

In February, Green Day announced they canceled their concert in Russia amid the country's invasion of Ukraine.

The band posted the update to their Instagram page announcing the cancellation of their May 29 show at Spartak Stadium in Moscow, Russia.

They noted that 'this moment is not about stadium rock shows' but they 'feel confident there will be a time and a place for us to return in the future.'

Green Day wrote: 'With heavy hearts, in light of current events we feel it is necessary to cancel our upcoming show in Moscow at Spartak Stadium. We are aware that this moment is not about stadium rock shows, it's much bigger than that.'

The iconic band, which consists of Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt, added, 'But we also know that rock and roll is forever and we feel confident there will be a time and a place for us to return in the future. Refunds available at the point of purchase. Stay safe.'

The group had been slated to play at the festival at Gorky Park.

Frontman Billie Joe was making headlines after he proclaimed 'f**k America' and claimed he was 'renouncing his citizenship' in wake of the Supreme Court 's decision to overturn Roe vs Wade in June

In recent months, frontman Billie Joe made headlines after he proclaimed 'f**k America' and claimed he was 'renouncing his citizenship' in wake of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe vs Wade in June.

Armstrong made the declaration during a concert in London, telling the audience: 'There's too much f***ing stupid in the world.'

He also told the crowd he was going to move to the UK, a statement that was met with roaring applause.

The American Idiot hitmaker has repeatedly used his musical platform to protest politicians and alleged injustices.

At an earlier show, he performed in front of a backdrop that read 'f**k Ted Cruz' in an effort to take aim at the GOP senator from Texas. He previously called out former President Donald Trump for 'holding half the country hostage' and devoted an entire album to criticizing former President George W. Bush and the Iraq War.

Armstrong, who has backed President Joe Biden, also reportedly filed paperwork last year to run as a Republican in the 2024 presidential election.
