NEW YORK (CBS) Australian actor Sam Worthington, known for his roles in "Avatar" and "Terminator: Salvation," has called it quits with his girlfriend of nearly three years, Natalie Marks.

According to the Hearld Sun, Worthington and Marks, a fashion stylist, have not made a public appearance since last October when they were seen at a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.

"It's been on the cards for a while, I believe," a source close to the pair told the Australian newspaper.

The couple met while Marks, 24, was working for Worthington's Australian-based management agency, Shanahans, according to the Daily Mail.

Worthington is currently working on a few films, including "Wrath of the Titans," the sequel to last year's "Clash of the Titans," with Liam Neeson.

He is also part of the cast of James Cameron's two "Avatar" sequels, which are expected to be released in 2014 and 2015.
