Unique Home Designs | Skateboard House, United States

Want to go the kitchen? A quick visit to the bathroom? No need for slippers or shoes—a skateboard will do just fine. The client and visionary of the project, Pierre Andre Senizergues (PAS), a former World champion and Pro Skater decided to segregate his home into three sections—the living room, dining & kitchen, the bedroom and the third, the skateboard area. Each space is finished as a skateboard ring, with a continuous surface. The furniture too is skateable, built as an extension of the walls and flooring.

Unique Home Designs | Transparent House, Japan

This home, built by Sou Fujimoto Architects follows the concept of living on a tree. The home comprises 21 individual floor plates, all situated at various heights, that allow the clients to live as nomads within their own home. Plenty of natural light fills spaces in such a way that it makes the home seem almost see-through.

Unique Home Designs| Keret House, Poland

Also known as the world's slimmest house, the Keret House is just 152 centimetres wide. The house is built by architect Jakub Szczesny of Centrala. The interiors are made with tri-dimensional steel frame finished with plywood, insulated sandwich panels and styrofoam covered with concrete cloth painted white. It is designed both as a structure and as an art installation.

Unique Home Designs | Hang Nga Guesthouse, Vietnam

This is popularly known as a 'crazy house' due to its exterior appearance. The home was designed by Vietnamese architect Dang Viet Nga, as a space that looks like a giant tree. It is now open for tourists and the structure houses 10 themed guest rooms. The interiors have a mysterious aura about them and are filled with sharp twists, turns, bridges, hallways and staircases. All furniture inside was specially customised to fit in the organic shape of the interiors.

Unique Home Designs | Teletubby House, United Kingdom

Also known as the Earth House, this structure built for, and owned by, former Member of Parliament Bob Marshall-Andrews is one of the most mysterious-looking properties. A design company called Future Systems built the home in a way that it looked like it was sucked into the ground. This way it has a minimal impact on the landscape and environment. The home interiors have an open plan format and the home is filled with communal seating.

Unique Home Designs | Giant Seashell House, Mexico

Architects Arquitectura Organica created this Giant Seashell house for a family of four. The home is heavily inspired by works of Antoni Gaudi and Frank Lloyd Wrigh, seen through the extensive use of coloured glass in the interiors and exteriors. The home makes for an eye-catching destination in the city.
