Burger King is leaning into the spookiest time of the year by bringing a hauntingly delicious menu item back from the dead. This October, the Ghost Pepper Whopper is coming back to Burger King.

The frighteningly spicy Whopper was first introduced last year in 2022 and will return to locations nationwide starting October 12. The burger comes with a beef patty, spicy queso, jalapeños, bacon, and fiery ghost pepper cheese. All that spicy goodness is sandwiched between two Halloween-appropriate orange buns (the color of which comes courtesy of paprika) topped with black sesame seeds. But, that’s not the only ghost pepper-flavored item coming to the menu.

Burger King Debuts New Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries

As of October 12, fans will also be able to try a brand-new menu item, Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries. Burger King’s Chicken Fries are a fan-favorite in their own right, and the chain has even released two different flavor variations in the past year alone.

The newest addition, Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries, will be available in three sizes: 4-piece, 8-piece, and 12-piece, all coming with your choice of dipping sauce. Pat O’Toole, Chief Marketing Officer for Burger King North America, said in a press release, “Earlier this year, we asked guests if we should bring back the Ghost Pepper Whopper or introduce Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries. The results were split, so we’re adding both products to our menus nationwide this Halloween season.”

Starting October 13 (which just so happens to fall on a Friday this year—spooky!) and running through Halloween, members of Royal Perks, BK's loyalty program, can get a meal deal with a Ghost Pepper Whopper, 4-piece order of Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries, small French fries, fountain soda, and a Hershey's Sundae Pie for just $13.

Burger King Introduces Its Own Version of McDonald’s’ Boo Buckets

Burger King has one more Halloween treat in store. In select areas, the chain will be offering glow-in-the-dark Halloween buckets inspired by the ghost pepper menu items. While McDonald’s brought back its beloved Boo Bucket last year, the chain has yet to make a similar official announcement this year (though there are plenty of rumors swirling online that it will).

Burger King customers in the following cities will have the opportunity to snag a limited-edition “Trick or Heat” bucket with any purchase for $1: Nashville, Tenn., Las Vegas, Nev., Charlotte, N.C., and Atlanta, Ga. If you aren’t near one of those metro areas, don’t turn your “boo” into “boo-hoo” just yet—nationwide, the chain has limited-edition Burger King Halloween crowns available with any purchase, while supplies lasts.
