MUSEUM BATIK PEKALONGAN

Batik museum in Pekalongan was inaugurated on Juli 12th, 2006, by the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The museum is located at Jl. Jetayu No. 1. Batik Pekalongan museum is occupied an old building from Dutch colonialist era built in the middle of the 19th century. The museum has thousands of batik collections coming from all over Indonesia and some collections from other countries. These collections are exhibited in three collection rooms. The museum received an award from UNESCO as the Best Practices and Batik Conservation. Visitors can learn about Batik from the guide, books, and documentary videos.
