Reeves resurrected his John Wick role this year for “Chapter 4,” Chad Stahelski’’s March neo-noir feature that picks up where 2019’s “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum” left off. He stars alongside High Table members Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne and the late Lance Reddick in what, as of May, can officially claim to be a billion-dollar franchise. Up next for the actor is the 2024 “John Wick” spinoff “Ballerina,” starring Ana de Armas as Rooney, a dancer on the hunt for revenge. And when he wasn’t in “Wick” world this year, the actor was busy performing with his alternative-rock band Dogstar, the Los Angeles-based trio that re-formed earlier this year after a 23-year hiatus.
