Would you be surprised to hear that 1 in 4 people experience mental health issues each year? These statistics are not just numbers—they represent potential challenges faced by our colleagues every day. The impact of mental ill health is HUGE, yet as a country, we often don't prioritize it enough. This week is National Mental Health Awareness week, but we should make an active effort every month to help one another battle this epidemic. At SWR, we're committed to this cause. We have trained four employees as Mental Health Aiders who are now qualified to offer support anyone who works for us. This could be as a shoulder to cry on or by offering potential solutions to their problems. Our mental health first aiders underwent an intensive two-day course with MHFA England, empowering them to enhance employee well-being and assist their colleagues effectively. Recently, they completed a refresher course to stay updated and to be able to deliver the best possible support. We appreciate these employees so much and their training has made SWR a safe environment for everyone, giving everyone the option for help. We highly recommend MHFA England training. This month is Stress Awareness Month, so we wanted to take the time to highlight the importance of stress management. Work-related stress is a direct factor in around 120,000 deaths every year, and this number is believed to be much higher. Stress can cause many life-threatening illnesses, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, obesity and diabetes. Understanding the signs of stress is essential to help ourselves and the people around us. Here are a few of the main symptoms to look out for: - Headaches - Anxiety - Chest pain - Muscle tension - Overeating/undereating - Fatigue - Depression - Anger/angry outbursts Since the theme for this year is #littlebylittle we wanted to share some ways you can lower your stress: - Regular physical activity - going to the gym or simply going for a walk - Relaxation techniques - yoga, deep breathing or meditation - Spend time with family or friends - Get over 8 hours sleep - Eat healthy to boost mood & energy levels - Talk to others about it - this could be a friend, work colleague, a medical professional, anyone! For Easter, we donated over 50 eggs to the children's hospital at Watford Hospital. They were all very grateful for the chocolate eggs, and these will be shared with Watford and Hemel Hempstead Hospital. We are so happy we were able to put a smile on their faces. Happy Easter to everyone celebrating this Sunday! Easter is the perfect time for giving, so we wanted to donate some Easter eggs to a local children's hospital ward to spread some chocolatey smiles. We are thrilled to say we have donated over 50 eggs, in hope that it will bring some much-needed Easter cheer. The next rising star we are celebrating is Callum who works in Trade Spares as a Stock Control team member. Since he started, Callum has shown great initiative in improving how Trade Spares runs. He is an excellent member of the team and everyone loves how approachable and happy he always is. Warehouse issues are being dealt with quickly and more importantly to a higher standard, with Callum playing a huge part in that. Callum always offers his team members a helping hand and has taken it on himself to create more space in the warehouse. He always shows great resourcefulness, consistently demonstrating our core value of going beyond His hard work and eagerness to learn is appreciated throughout the company, and we want to thank him. #garagedoor #construction #tradespeople #automation

Today we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women everywhere, and for us especially the women here at SWR. Their dedication is unmatched and despite the struggles women go through daily they all come to work with a smile on their face. Every single day they all work unbelievably hard while staying kind to everyone in the building. We are so thankful to have a great team of women driving the company forward. Sadly, due to the mistreatment of women around the world, there is a need to raise awareness to help break that cycle. March is national rising star month so we are celebrating Dinesh who is a rising star at SWR. He started here in July 2023 in production assemblies. Since then he has transitioned into a role that is more focused on process improvement. Dinesh always works at a high output and displays fantastic behaviours everyday. His all-round attitude towards finding solutions, reflects our values of going beyond in everything we do. Dinesh always has a smile on his face and is a truly a pleasure to work with and talk to everyday. As National Apprenticeship week draws to a close, we want to talk about the journey of our final 2 apprentices here at SWR. Eva is our marketing apprentice and started at SWR with a Level 3 in Digital Marketing. She is now in her second year of her Digital Marketing Degree Apprenticeship. Debbie is the Balustrade Team Leader, and she recently finished her management apprenticeship passing with a distinction! Verrell has also completed a sales apprenticeship and is now a sales executive in the Balustrade team too. We value all the hard work our apprentices do at SWR, balancing their work and their studies with grace, excelling through their studies and their day jobs. As it is National Apprenticeship week, we are celebrating our apprentices who are at different stages of their learning process. Josh is now our IT Manager, who began his journey as an IT apprentice. His degree is soon coming to an end but the 6 years determination to progress has clearly paid off. Bobby is our second IT apprentice and has just finished his level 3, IT apprenticeship. He arrived with little experience in the IT world but has since become a huge asset to the IT team.
