Model description

A set of models showing organelles of an animal cell: cell nucleus, cell membrane, mitochondria, the Golgi apparatus, ribosomes, vacuole, endoplasmic reticulum, lysosomes and centriole.

The model could be especially useful during biology and science classes.

If you would like to get ideas and inspiration about using these models during your lessons please check out our Skriware Academy suggestions: "Animal Cell Structure" Lesson: https://academy.skriware.com/lesson/98.

Model elements

The set consists of 8 models depicting individual organelles. The files in the set have been prepared in such a way as to be printed separately or as a part of one printout.

Among the printable files  you will find:

Single item files:

- Vacuole: a model of vacuole;

- Ribosome: a model of ribosome;

- Lysosome: a model of the lysosome;

- Golgi apparatus: a model of the Golgi apparatus;

- Endoplasmic reticulum: a model of endoplasmic reticulum;

- Cytoblast: a model of a cell nucleus;

- Chondriosome: a model of chondriosome;

- Centriole: a model of centriole.

Files with sets of several elements:

- Animal cell organelles (‘plate’): all 8 organelles in one file.

If you want to print more copies of the selected item, you can use the multiplier in the slicer ("multiply model" function). Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the desired number of models and the slicer will automatically place them on the worktop.

The file with the visualization and description of separate elements can be found at Skriware Academy: [VISUALIZATION] Animal cell organelles

Technical data

Model size (XYZ): a plate with all elements ( “Animal cell organelles: plate” file) - 86.22 x 57.83 x 14.44 mm / separate elements - from 19.9 x 21.67 x 9.97 mm to 62.73 x 57.33 x 9.98 mm.

Printing time: plate - 7 h 14 min / separate elements - from 14 min to 1 h 25 min.

Filament quantity: 64 g for all elements.

Recommended filament type: SkriPLA / PLA.

Additional information

Some elements of the models are very small, so be careful when removing them from the 3D printer's worktop and when removing the support elements.

The models can also be used during a remote lesson by demonstrating them to students. The students could also be asked to analyze the models themselves. For this purpose, you can use the Skriware slicer, Tinkercad or any other 3D viewer or editor.
