We'll Watch You, Wazowski! Billy Crystal, John Goodman to Return for 'Monsters, Inc.' TV Series

Monsters at Work will pick up six months from when the original Monsters, Inc. film left off

The laugh-filled adventures of Mike and Sulley are making the jump from the silver screen to the small screen.

Disney+ — the new streaming service from Disney set to debut in 2020 — has announced that one of its first series will be Monsters at Work, a show based on the 2001 Disney/Pixar classic Monsters, Inc., according to a press release.

Monsters at Work will be set six months after the events of the original film, in which James P. “Sulley” Sullivan becomes head of a revamped Monsters, Inc. that now fuels Monstropolis through children’s laughter.

Stars Billy Crystal and John Goodman will reprise their roles as Mike Wazowski and Sulley, respectively.

Superstore’s Ben Feldman is also on board as Tylor Tuskmon, a young monster mechanic who works in the company’s facilities department, but aspires to one day make it to the Laugh Floor like his idols Mike and Sulley.

In addition to Crystal and Goodman, original cast members Jennifer Tilly (Celia), Bob Peterson (Roz’s new twin Roze) and John Ratzenberger (Yeti/a new character named Bernard) will also return.

Monsters at Work will also feature a roster of new characters voiced by Henry Winkler, Kelly Marie Tran, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubah, Stephen Stanton and Aisha Tyler.

The series is just the latest Disney/Pixar film to see new life as a TV show; Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, based on Toy Story, debuted in 2000, while Mater’s Tall Tales, based on Cars, premiered in 2008.

Disney Television Animation will produce the program, which was developed and executive produced by Bobs Gannaway, produced by Ferrell Barron, and directed by Kat Good and Rob Gibbs.
