We're now two months in. I can honestly say my mom is in the best physical health since the last 10 years. Unfortunately, I believe she's developed or gone into later stage Alzheimer's since the Nov '23 stroke as she's not able to tell me what goes on during her stay there, but I can clearly see her becoming stronger and healthier. She hasn't complained about an ache or pain in about a month when before she lived in constant discomfort.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 8, 2024Previous reviewMy mom has been here a month now and it has been such an adjustment. Reviews for places like these are so hard because it's your loved one, but also these nurses and medical people are so understaffed. There really do need to be laws to allow for less patients per nurse/CNA at these and all medical facilities (not picking on this one in particular, all of them) but I digress...
To the nurse Scott, you're an angel. I have been so lost through this experience, am I supposed to be doing more or stepping back? I don't know. It's all new to me. I call with questions, but try not to be too intrusive as I see how hard they work, but I need to know and my mom has not figured out how to use her room phone. Scott is always polite, lets me know what's going on, always knows off the top of his head what my mom is going through or how she's doing.
I am very thankful for the CNA's I have had the pleasure of interacting with. I am horrible with names, especially when I am stressed out which I have been since my mom had her stroke. I wish I remembered all of your names, you guys are awesome.. my mom does not warm up to people, but she speaks well of you.
I could NEVER do the work you guys do, my blood pressure goes up every time I go there just from everything I see going on with the patients. I do think it's nice to see that many of the staff really do have a true friendship that helps them get through it together. On behalf of the patient's families.. thank you so much for all that you do. - Bart A.Henderson, NV281201Jan 19, 2024
I hate writing reviews like this because I don't want to give too many people a heads up about this business. I wish to keep it for myself. I was transferred to GVHW from a hospital ER for rehab treatment. I elected to leave the facility to return home after 2 weeks and complete my rehab at home with my family.
On the positive, the staff were for the most part extremely professional, welcoming and helpful. The CNAs are hardworking and do their absolute best to meet your every need. The problem with the CNA staff is that management keeps a small staff of permanent employees supplemented by temporary employees from a staffing agency, when needed. The temporary employees are hit and miss. Many have attitudes and are just putting in time. Most spend their times huddled in groups talking and do the bare minimum. For some reason it takes a group of the temp cna's to complete a job. They cling to each other and the group handles one patient at a time and moves on. This leaves patients waiting for a long period of time for assistance. My 2nd night there, I waited 3 1/2 hours for pain medication. I addressed my concern with management and the problem was resolved.
A special thank you to Mama D, Patrick, Daisy, Ruby, and so many other of the CNA staff. You all rock!!
The nursing staff was also spread thin and hard working. They were attentive and caring. However their patient loads were massive and demanding. Patrick and Kim and Paul. They were awesome and deserve a pat on the back. I know I am forgetting others, and I apologize. You are the best.
The other staff, including physical therapists, front desk staff, the patient advocates (Mariel) and other departments all made visits and helped with any necessary arrangements. A huge Thank You to all of you. Job well done.
The food services were very good, plentiful, and great variety. The only criticism I have of the food service, is that I never had a salad. A fresh salad would occasionally be very welcome. Otherwise, fantastic job. One other small criticism is that I had a difficult time getting ahold of a current menu. Most of the time, never new what the next meal would be.
In closing, I was truly impressed by the facility and staff. You are all rock stars doing an impossible job. If the need ever arises, I would not hesitate returning to your facility. Thank you so much for everything.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mary J.Southeast, NV, NV04Nov 4, 2023
This facility is trash. The new director, allows inexperienced LPNs to diagnose my dad for symptoms; when he's there for physical therapy, not for controlling blood pressure. Don't send anyone you care for there. When I spoke to the director his response was that my dad was lucky not to take the medication , there's no compassion at that place.

Green Valley Health & Wellness Suites is a beautiful new Skilled Nursing Facility in Henderson, located conveniently right off of the 215 between Windmill and Eastern on the corner of Eastern and Wigwam Parkway, right next to the Dollar Tree. Green Valley Health & Wellness Suites has a warm, welcoming, homey feeling throughout the building. The staff there is very friendly, helpful, and caring. You can tell that they really enjoy their jobs and love assisting people with their care needs. It is a wonderful feeling to visit a facility where you can tell that the residents are well cared for. The facility is clean and well taken care of. The food is delicious, which is a good change from most hospital type food. Everyone complements how consistently good the food is, plus they offer an alternative menu as well as consider residents individual preferences. The Director of Nursing is welcoming and you can tell takes pride in the facility and staff and shows incredible support, very attentive. They have a very friendly Activities Director who loves creating programs and activities for the residents to enjoy, plus has a beautiful activities room that is lite with natural sunlight giving the room a warm feeling. Additional to the activities room, the facility has a Day Room for the residents to enjoy which is one big lounge area, on half of the room they have couches and nice comfy chairs with a huge tv for the residents to enjoy, and on the other half of the room there are tables set up with chairs and games to be played either individually or in groups, as well as a pool table and a shuffleboard for enjoyment. They have a lovely on-site Salon where they offer several services for residents. They have a gorgeous courtyard area that is accessible to all resident's if they wish to enjoy some outdoor weather. Overall, I was very impressed with Green Valley Health & Wellness Suites for skilled nursing needs, either for short-term rehab care or long-term care. I highly recommend them.
