    Mufasa lovers will have to wait for another five months to meet their hero as the much awaited ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is all set to hit the theaters on December 20, 2024, instead of the slated release date of July 5, 2024.

    The aftermath of the SAG-AFTRA strike, which just ended after a record-breaking 118 days, has been considered as the cause of the delay.
    Besides, ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’, another must watch movie that is expected to screen at the theaters on the same day will be Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Moreover, Snow White,which was initially slated to debut in theaters next year has been postponed to 2025 due to the strike as well.

    While Disney fans will be disappointed by the delay, but the film according to trade analysts is expected to reap benefits just like the hit movie Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which too was released in December. The month happens to witness a large number of holidays due to Christmas and most of the people enjoying a good family time. It is too early to predict the movie’s box office success.

    ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is produced as a prequel to the 2019 animated classic Mufasa: The Lion King. This movie too will center on the titular character’s backstory and how he rose to be the king of Pride Rock.

    The voice to the young Mufasa has been given by Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. will lend his voice for the notorious character of Scar. Others who will showcase their talents are Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and John Kani, who reprise their roles as Pumbaa, Timon, and Rafiki, respectively.
