Bahasa Indonesia: Kerbau, atau biasa disebut kerbau air (untuk membedakannya dengan kerbau afrika), adalah binatang memamah biak yang menjadi ternak bagi banyak bangsa di dunia, terutama Asia. Di Indonesia Kerbau selain sebagai ternak juga di gunakan untuk membajak sawah. Membajak sawah menggunakan alat tradisional, saat ini sudah semakin ditinggalkan. Padahal membajak sawah menggunakan tenaga bantu kerbau misalnya, memiliki kearifan lokal dan bisa mempertahankan lingkungan agar tetap lestari. Meski pun sudah semakin jarang, rupanya masih ada petani di wilayah pinggiran yang menggunakan kerbau untuk proses pengolahan lahan sawah miliknya |
