When Walt Disney designed the Disney Parks, he envisioned a place where visitors of all ages could enjoy the amusements. As his legacy lives on, the Disney Parks are filled with many entertaining attractions that are safely able to accommodate even the smallest of Mouseketeers. If you are looking for thrills, you will also find rides that are for you. Below are the 10 fastest rides in Walt Disney World and in which park you can find them. Can you guess which Disney World Park houses the most thrill rides?

10. Space Mountain – Magic Kingdom

While the darkness and special effects may make it seem like you are going faster, Space Mountain’s top speed is just 27mph. Is this original Magic Kingdom attraction on your must-do list?

9. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Magic Kingdom

This Magic Kingdom coaster may not be the longest of attractions, but it still packs a punch. Navigating the twists, turns, and hills before and after entering the mine make Seven Dwarfs Mine Train a thrill for all passengers as it reaches a top speed of 34 mph.

8.  Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Magic Kingdom

The Wildest Wide in the West most certainly makes the list of top 10 fastest rides in Walt Disney World. Climb up and speed down the mountain in Frontierland at 36mph.

7. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – Hollywood Studios

An attraction you may not think about when considering fastest rides at Walt Disney World is Hollywood StudiosTwilight Zone Tower of Terror. Did you know that when you drop 13 stories you reach a top speed of 39 mph?

6. Slinky Dog Dash – Hollywood Studios

Designed after the popular toy from the 1940s and, of course, one of Andy’s toys in Toy Story, Slinky Dog Dash launches passengers not just once, but twice along its hilly track. Slinky can reach a top speed of 40mph as it carries guests through Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios.

5. Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain – Animal Kingdom

Anyone being chased by a yeti might try to escape at top speed, so it’s no shock that Expedition Everest is one of the fastest in Walt Disney World. Barreling down the mountain at 50mph in Animal Kingdom, this coaster is one for thrill seekers who measure over 44 inches tall!

4. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith – Hollywood Studios

After launching guests at the start, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is the only Walt Disney World coaster to go upside down. This attraction in Hollywood Studios includes loops, cork screws, and drops accompanied by a loud soundtrack. It’s not for the faint of heart, but it’s a favorite among thrill-seekers as it travels up to 57mph.

3. Tron Lightcycle / Run – Magic Kingdom

While the ride time for Tron may be short, guests won’t be disappointed in the thrill this ride provides. Clocking speeds of up to 60mph, Tron launches you into The Grid on a Tron Lightcycle, a motorcycle that safely secures you before your high-speed journey through Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom.

2. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – EPCOT

With its unprecedented technology, it is no surprise that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind nearly tops the list of fastest rides in Walt Disney World. Not only does this coaster launch, but it features a reverse launch and allows rider cars to rotate 360 degrees on the track! This EPCOT attraction is the 2nd fastest reaching confirmed speeds of 60mph.

1.Test Track – EPCOT

Racing at 64mph, passengers will conclude their vehicle safety check by going for a really quick spin outdoors when they ride Test Track.  This EPCOT attraction takes you down straightaways and around banked turns before returning indoors to conclude the test. Test Track is the fastest ride in Walt Disney World!

Honorable mention for one of the fastest rides in Disney World is the retired Splash Mountain, currently being transformed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Traveling downhill at 40mph, Splash Mountain certainly gave riders a rush before cooling them off from the hot Florida sun. When Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reopens in late 2024, we will have to obtain official word from Disney to see if this attraction still reaches its previous top speed.

With 4 of the 10 fastest rides in Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom is the park with the most thrill rides! No matter which of the 4 Disney World Parks you visit, you will have your selection of thrill rides which also tend to be the most popular attractions. In order to reduce your wait time, take advantage of early entry when you stay at a Disney Resort, extended evening hours for guests of deluxe resorts, purchase an Individual Lightning Line, or utilize a Lightning Lane from Genie+.
