Andong is a city occupying the center of northern Gyeongsang province, or Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The area is 1,522km², making it the largest Korean city and 2.5 times the size of Seoul.

Previously, to get to Andong from Seoul, people had to travel for a long time by bus or train.

Fortunately, starting December 2020, KTX now runs from Seoul to Andong, shortening the travel time to 2 hours.

Jjimdak, or braised chicken, is the ideal dish for those who are just starting their Korean cuisine journey!

Jjimdak was originated in Andong and slowly gained its populary all across the nation. Koreans often associate the words 'Andong' and 'jjimdak' together.

The slogan of the city is "The Capital Of Korean Moral Culture". As such, Andong is a city that preserves Korea's traditions that followed Confucianism.
