Here at Animal Comedy, we believe that all animals are beautiful. Yes, even the naked mole rat, hairless sphynx cats, and the blobfish, we think even the "not so stereotypically attractive" animals are stunning in their own way. So today we wanted to show you animals with albinism, which we think are stunning because of their stark white color. What makes albinism happen, you ask? It's a genetic mutation which affects the body's ability to produce melanin, a pigment that adds color.
When people hear "albino" they typically think of small, sickly creatures that cannot be out in the sun because their skin lacks the melanin needed to absorb sunlight. But these animals are rocking their bone-white fur and strutting their stuff, showing us that standing out amongst the rest is a beautiful thing. Albino animals are very rare, just like you (you're one of a kind, if your mother didn't tell you first). Stand out, be proud, and show your beauty to the world just like these guys!
This albino gorilla looks suspicious of something. Maybe he's tired of everyone taking pictures of him, but that's what happens when you're a star! You have to find ways to avoid the paparazzi. Bold is beautiful!
Wow! This albino raven really is unique. Ravens are known for their jet black appearance, so to see one that is completely white is crazy! It's shocking, and it took us a second to understand that it's the same animal. Edgar Allen Poe definitely didn't write about this raven…
